Lunch Time Lecture Series at Guilford Art Center
"Art a la carte" Explores Craft Techniques
A new series of lunch-time lectures is being offered
at Guilford Art Center, focusing on the fine craft
and art techniques. Art a la carte features discussions
of various art forms by Art Center faculty members
and visiting artists. Sessions are held on Tuesday
afternoons from 12-1pm. Each week will explore a different
topic, through conversation, visuals and demonstration.
Attendees can sign up for one or all of the sessions,
and should bring a brown-bag lunch for the get-together.
"Many people are intrigued by the different art forms
we teach at the Center, but would appreciate an introductory
lecture before signing up for a class," explains Ann
Person, the Art Center's Youth and Community Program
Coordinator. "Or they just want to find out more about
a particular craft. These sessions are a great introduction,
and also a chance for people to take a lunch break
with like-minded friends."
Art a la carte pre-registration is $9 per session,
or $12 at the door. Seating is limited; pre-registration
is recommended. All sessions are from 12-1pm.
