| Guilford Art Center’s Holiday Sale Opens with Music and Marionettes
Artistry on the Green Opens November 1, 5 – 8pm
The opening reception for Guilford Art Center’s Artistry on the Green Holiday Sale kicks off a season of art and celebration on Thursday evening, November 1, from 5 to 8pm.
Artistry on the Green will be held in downtown Guilford this year, in the former Trailblazer building, 102 Broad Street, Guilford, CT. The store will be filled with handmade crafts and art, including ceramics, glass, wood, fiber, leather, ornaments, and more, and will be decorated inside and out.
Opening night begins with a marionette show in the storefront windows: Rosalita’s Puppets presents Rudolph the Red-Nosed Dragon, the story of a poor Dragon who goes in search of the holiday spirit. Following the show, the Artistry doors open to music by the Guilford High School’s acclaimed Voices quartet and fiddler Will Platt, snacks, drinks, and shopping. Rosalita’s marionettes will also be wandering the store throughout the evening.
Artistry on the Green continues through December 31, Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 12-5pm.
Proceeds benefit the Guilford Art Center, its school and gallery programs. The event is generously sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank, Anderson Wilcox, Inc., Jane Marcher Foundation, Fairhaven Furniture, Frank’s Package Store, Mionetto USA, The Village Chocolatier, and Madison Decorating Center.
