Craft Expo 2010
Celebrates America's Finest Crafts on the Guilford Green
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, July 15, 16, 17, 2010

In celebration of its 53rd year, the Guilford Art Center's annual Craft Expo will once again be held on the scenic and historic Guilford Green, celebrating American handmade craft and showcasing creative artistry and workmanship. The event is one of the Guilford Art Center's most important fundraisers, with all gate proceeds providing support for the Center's school and gallery programs.

Craft Expo 2010 will bring 175 artists to Guilford this year--a mix of first-time and returning exhibitors. The show includes artists from across the country, with works in the following media: Clay, Glass, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Metal and Non-Metal Jewelry, Wearable and Non-Wearable Fiber, Paper, Photography, Polymer Clay, Soap and Wood.

The show has been written up by publications ranging from Yankee Magazine to American Style, which has included the annual Guilford gathering--amidst antique residences, venerable churches and stylish shops--as one of the nation's "Can't-Miss Craft Shows."

As a celebration of the arts and a signature event for the town of Guilford, Craft Expo has become a point of pride for the Connecticut shoreline, says Guilford Art Center Program Director Maureen Belden. "Craft Expo's long history has helped our community gain a reputation as one where creative expression is valued. At the Center, we continue to support creative opportunities for all, and we hope this event will inspire others to try their hand at an art form."

Craft Expo is the perfect day- or weekend-long outing, as Guilford is geographically central to Boston and New York, and set on the Long Island Sound. At Craft Expo, visitors can also enjoy a Food Court with lunch and dinner fare and other speciality foods, a Silent Auction of donated crafts, musical performances, and more.

Craft Expo is sponsored, in part, by Kebabian's Oriental Rugs, Shoreline Eye Associates, The Bead Hive, and the New York Times.

Craft Expo 2010 hours: Thursday, July 15, 12-9pm, Friday, July 16, 12-9pm, Saturday, July 17, 10am-7pm. Admission: Adults $7, Seniors $5, Members and children under 12 Free.
