Art Center Hosts "Once in a Blue Moon" Benefit Gala
Celestial Theme Celebrates the Full Moon
Saturday Evening, June 30
The Guilford Art Center is hosting a Once in a "Blue Moon" Gala on Saturday, June 30 from 6:30 to 11:00pm. This magical evening under the moon & stars will be held on the grounds of a private home in the exclusive Sachem's Head area of Guilford, overlooking the Long Island Sound. Proceeds will benefit the Guilford Art Center.
Guests at the Once in a "Blue Moon" gala will be treated to live music, a dance performance, delectable food and drink, and a live and silent auction of donated goods. The gala will be held outdoors, under tents, to take full advantage of the second full moon during the month of June.
The gala will take place amidst the "Circle of Life
Gardens," (pictured above) a granite sculpture by
Stony Creek artist and Guilford Art Center faculty
member Darrell Petit, which emulates ancient monuments,
such as Stonehenge, created for astronomical observation.
This magnificent sculpture is inspiration for this
celebration, which coincides with the second full
moon in the month of June (the rare and so-called
"blue moon").
Tickets for the Once in a "Blue Moon" Gala are $150 per person, with proceeds benefiting the Guilford Art Center's educational and gallery programs.
For more information and for tickets, call the Guilford
Art Center at 203.453.5947.
