Jean Perkins is New Executive Director
at Guilford Art Center

The Board of Directors of the Guilford Art Center is pleased to welcome Jean Perkins as its new Executive Director, effective April 1. Perkins, who comes to the Guilford Art Center from the Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago, where she served as General Manager, succeeds Mary O'Connor, who is retiring following an extensive career in marketing and three years as Executive Director of the Guilford Art Center.

Prior to her work with the Grant Park Music Festival, Perkins held numerous positions in the nonprofit and private sectors. She was the Manager of Marketing, Public Relations and Development at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Columbia College Chicago, and she also worked in marketing and advertising for firms in Wichita, Boston and New York.

Perkins holds an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and a BA in Communication Arts from Michigan State University. She has also done course work at the International Center for Photography and the School of Visual Arts, both in New York, and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Northeastern University, both in Boston.

Perkins is a working photographer. Her work is held in private collections and is exhibited nationally and internationally.
