Spring Semester Kicks Off New Classes and Events at Guilford Art Center

The spring 2010 semester at Guilford Art Center kicks-off to a variety of new classes and activities designed to get everybody to express themselves creatively. Some of the newest offerings include drawing classes for absolute beginners (Drawing 101 & Developing Your Drawing and Start Drawing & Keep On Drawing, offered days and evenings); weekday, evening blacksmithing classes in the newly renovated pole barn; new, media-specific classes for teens (Blacksmithing, Metals, Hot Glass and Fashion Design); fashion workshops for kids and young adults; and a new series of meetings with local artists, Creating in the Community.

Most classes at Guilford Art Center are open to students of all levels. Contact the Center to discuss your questions and interests. Financial aid is available for children and adults enrolling in Guilford Art Center classes. Awards are based on need and interest and are most often partial scholarships, to enable as many students as possible to participate. Scholarship forms are available from the Guilford Art Center office and can be downloaded from the website, www.guilfordartcenter.org. Forms must be returned no later than ten days before the beginning of each semester; for Spring 2010 classes the return date is March 19, 2010. A $20 tuition deposit is required with all scholarship applications.

Spring 2010 classes begin the week of March 29. Catalogs are available by calling the Guilford Art Center at 203.453.5947 or downloading from the Internet: www.guilfordartcenter.org. For more information and to register call the Art Center.
