Volunteers Needed!
We are looking for volunteers to shop-and-gallery-sit at the Center on Mondays and Tuesdays, 10am-4pm. Duties would include keeping an eye on shop & gallery merchandise, answering simple questions, providing literature and other materials, and contacting staff members to handle registrations, sales and all other questions. In short, we would very much like to have an engaging and energetic presence in the shop & gallery for these two days.
Please contact Maureen Belden if you are interested. A weekly commitment of at least 4 hours would be ideal, but we welcome any assistance you'd like to offer. In return, we can offer you a discount in our shop and/or one free class in our school, along with our great thanks.

In celebration of its 53rd year, the Guilford Art Center's annual Craft Expo will once again be held on the scenic and historic Guilford Green, celebrating American handmade craft and showcasing creative artistry and workmanship. The event is one of the Guilford Art Center's most important fundraisers, with all gate proceeds providing support for the Center's school and gallery programs. [more]

"Sprezzatura" in Exhibit at Guilford Art Center
Guilford Art Center announces its latest exhibit, Sprezzatura, a group show of contemporary art in many media. The exhibit is on view April 23 through June 5 in the Center's Mill Gallery. The opening reception for Sprezzatura is Friday, April 30, 5-7pm, and is free and open to the public. [more]
Create2010: An Artful Twist on Dinners at the Farm
Guilford Art Center announces a springtime benefit evening on campus filled with pleasure for all of the senses. Create2010, on Saturday May 15th, 6:30-11pm. Guests are invited to savor locally-sourced cuisine prepared by Dinners at the Farm Chef Jonathan Rapp. Music is by local honky-tonk cult favorite the Forgotten Ones, while the Center's Mill Gallery will feature the group exhibit Sprezzatura. Tickets are $125 per person, proceeds will benefit Guilford Art Center. [more]

Guilford Art Center Receives Grant for Class Enrollment
The Guilford Art Center has received an innovative grant from the Fresh Sound Foundation in support of class enrollment at the Center's school. The $5000 grant was initiated by Jeffrey Burt, a member of the Guilford Art Center board of directors and a trustee of the Fresh Sound Foundation. The award will financially enable the Center to run classes with enrollment by a small number of students. [more...]
