The Finance & Operations Manager is responsible for the financial management of the organization, as well as Human Resources Administration and Operations oversight, in order to ensure a strong infrastructure in support of the Center’s mission. Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Finance & Operations Manager will support the ED to ensure the Center’s financial stability, operational sustainability, and organizational longevity, and be present at all Finance Committee meetings. How to Draw Cartoons

7 Tuesdays beginning March 29, 4:00pm-6:00pm
How to Draw Cartoons is open to ages 10-14. Learn about this history of cartoons and the drawing techniques using pencil, ink and color. Learn to draw characters with different faces and figures to give them personality. Learn about scale, perspective and focus to create believable environments for your character. Register here.

Clay Explorations Workshop
Instructor: Claudia Mathison
Monday, April 18. 9:30am-12:30pm
Open to ages 8+. Learn a variety of hand building clay techniques to mold a coil pot, pinch animals and slab construct a nature house. Clay creations will be embellished with feathers, beads, googly eyes and sequins. Register here.
Potholder Weaving for Kid’s Workshop

Tuesday, April 19. 9:30am-12:30pm
Open to ages 8+. Learn the basics of weaving while designing beautiful and functional pot holders and hot pads. Get creative with crazy patterns, colors and designs. Register here.

KNIFE SHEATH WORKSHOP; STUD STYLE
Saturday-Sunday, March 12-13, 9:00am-5:00pm
Instructor: Katie Coleman
Learn how to design, pattern, sew and treat a leather stud style sheath. Explore different design aspects and options. This sheath works best with a blade that has a guard (bring your knife to pattern).
COMBINING GOLD & SILVER WORKSHOP

Learn about different alloys of gold, the different colors available and how to solder. We will do some keumboo on patterned silver sheet, make a gold bezel on a silver back, work with 18kt over sterling bi-metal, and gold filled wire and sheet.

Forging is an ancient art of hammering metal to transform the shape and width of wire. Using different hammers, steel blocks and anvil, we will forge copper wire and make jewelry or utensils or sculpture.
MAKING A CHOPPING KNIFE WORKSHOP
Saturday-Monday, March 26-28, 10:00am-5:00pm

Students will forge, grind and heat treat a blade … design and fit a handle with a steel ferrule. From chopping herbs to the zombie apocalypse, this is the knife you want by your side!
Instructor: Dahlia Popovits
Tapestry is an ancient form of weaving and typically referred to as “painting with fiber”. Students will learn how to dress a rigid heddle loom prior to learning a variety of joining techniques including the popular clasp technique. You’ll take home your own unique tapestry, woven in your own aesthetic.
