Explore several different master works, choose one or two paintings as a guide to recreate your compositions. We will learn the use of Thumbnail Sketches as a compositional tool and how breaking down the elements can help us decide placement in the picture plane. Students who wish to copy a master painting are welcome to do so; however, others who wish to move to the next level can do so with lots of extra information about creating compositions in their own paintings.
