2020 Summer Youth Classes
 
Here is the list of all upcoming youth classes for this summer. They can vary in length- some are weeklong, while some are 1, 2 or 3 days. We’ve included brief descriptions below. Click on each class link for more information regarding pricing and age groups (most classes are geared towards ages 5-12yrs). YOUTH CLASSES
July 13-17 (week-long classes)
 
Have fun with air-dry clay, creating all your favorite animals.
 
Explore painting, drawing with watercolors; learn techniques and create a collage piece.
 
July 20-24 (week-long classes)
 
Take a break from summer heat and create winter inspired ornaments and figurines with air-dry clay.
 
Think outside the box and create works of art inspired by master artists, using a variety of media and techniques.
 
July 27-31 (week-long classes)
 
Use oil pastels and markers to create drawings and mixed media art, taking inspiration from the great outdoors.
 
Learn new techniques creating art using animals (both real and imagined!) as subject matter.
 
August 3-7 (1 day and week-long classes)
 
Let’s be architects and builders as we create our fantasy house. Learn paper folding and design techniques.
 
We’ll use air-dry clay to make our goes, who protect our gardens and flowers.
 
Learn the basic skills of photography using a DSLR camera. Discuss controls, aperture and shutter. Creative assignments help explore framing and composition.
 
August 10-14 (1 & 4 day classes)
 
Learn about insects while creating fanciful caterpillar like creatures. Learn paper manipulation and embellishment techniques.
 
Use air-dry class to make a nice gift for Mom. It can be as simple or complex as you wish.
 
Explore the art of nature through drawing, painting and crafts. Learn still life drawing and design, pattern, repetition and color in the natural world around you
August 17-21 (1 day & week-long classes)
 
Learn about ships old and new while designing your own masted vessel and telescope.
 
Young artists’ imagination will flow while creating a variety of projects themed around our beautiful shores and surrounding areas. Work in self-hardening clay, along with other materials to create sea themed wind chimes and your favorite fish and sea life.
 
We’ll make some super cute monster inspired pinch pots with self-hardening clay. Make them silly or scary
 
August 24-28 (1 day & week-long classes)
 
What does abstract mean and what does a sculpture look like We’ll cut, glue and embellish a 3D abstract work of art.
 
Do you hope to meet a fairy some day? If so, let’s start with a door! Create one from self-hardening clay which you can decorate and paint.
