Giving Tuesday Starts Now!

Giving Tuesday at Guilford Art Center

We’re grateful that despite all the challenges of the past 18 months, you have helped GAC remain open and a vital resource for our community during difficult times. Sometimes even in new ways.

Since our doors reopened a year ago, you’ve made it possible for:

  • Students working creatively, in classrooms and online. We know that the arts can foster wellness and connectivity, and more than ever, GAC served as a critical resource and respite, for both longtime and first-time students.
  • Over 350 kids making art on campus this summer, having a great time expressing their creativity and connecting with peers—uplifting experiences at a time when positivity and a sense of achievement is vital to their well-being.
  • A livelihood for artists, in our gallery and shop, whose work also provides inspiration for our students and visitors.
  • New pop-up events this summer: with Craft Expo on hold for the second year in a row, we were able to feature and support artisans in a different way, and brought new visitors to discover our campus.
  • A new collaboration with Women & Family Life Center, which provides crisis education and resources, offering an art component during client meetings. We continue to develop outreach programs to reach populations who otherwise would not have access to GAC offerings.

Your support directly benefits GAC’s instructors, students, artists, and visitors. Please donate today.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY:

“The escape into the GAC ceramics studio is transformative. From intellectual to creative expression, from control to exploration, from adulthood to play, and neat (well, kind of) to mud. A time to leave work, the pandemic and worries behind. A time for pure fun.”

“The class became the highlight of my week. The closely bonded class was an amazing outlet to help process the pandemic, the contentious election and the storming of the capitol. Moments of history experienced through the eyes of artists.”
