Here Comes Summer! Weekly Youth Programs, Artisan Pop-Ups, Liquid Art & More

Summer Youth Program Registration

There are two easy ways for you to search for summer classes for your kids. Browse the catalog PDF where you can view the weekly schedule and directly link to online registration. OR you can go directly to our online registration page and find class offerings by week by searching under the “Class Type” search section. We are back with a full summer of weekly sessions for kids ages 5-12, plus workshops for tweens and teens. Classes will take place in the morning and afternoons, or if you’re looking for a full-day kids can stay all day with our bridge program.

Starting the Pop-Up Season

Warm weather means it’s time for Artist Pop-Up events at GAC! We began these events last year as a way to support local artists who faced cancellation of all their craft shows. It was so popular, that we’ve decided to continue the events in 2022 (even though craft shows are back, including our own Craft Expo on July 15-17!). The first Pop-Up event is Saturday, May 7 from 10am-4pm at GAC. Artists include Amy DeLorenzo/Jewelry, Barbara Hernandez/Painting, Trevor Youngberg/Ceramics and Gabriela Margarita (Bright Raven Studio)/Ceramics. Come support these artists and find beautiful items for yourself or to give to others! Follow announcements and artist info on the Facebook Event page.

Jump into a Spring Class or Workshop!

There are lots more opportunities to learn and create this spring at GAC. Find all the listings in our spring catalog, and then link to register online. Call us if you have questions at (203) 453-5947 or email

Seeking Teen Volunteers for GAC’s Summer Youth Program

If you are 14 years or older, we invite you to volunteer with GAC’s summer youth program. The program runs for 9 weeks, June 20-August 19. Assistance is needed helping instructors and students with projects in the classroom, supervising an outdoor break, and more. Volunteers are requested to commit to a week of classes at a time in the morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (1-4pm). GAC is happy to verify community service hours for this work. If interested, please contact Kate Klein, Summer Youth Program Coordinator:

Call for Artists

The submission deadline for Guilford Art Center‘s Biennial Ceramics Exhibition – juried by esteemed ceramicist, David R. McDonald – is approaching! This exhibition is open to all works which use clay as the primary medium, both utilitarian and sculptural. The exhibition will present the variety of ways contemporary ceramics furthers craft traditions, explores innovative approaches, and serves as a medium for creating compelling new art works.
