New Teen Classes, Summer Catalog Uploaded, Financial Aid, Gallery Video & More

Summer Opportunities for Teens

Summer break will be here soon! Keep your teens creatively engaged with these new classes and workshops created just for them. (But remember, teens can take any adult class too!)

Make small leather projects, like bookmarks, keychains and bracelets. Whatever reflects your individual style!

Students will utilize tooling and finishing skills to create a fully functional guitar strap. It’s a perfect blank leather canvas for unique works of art, to keep or share with a musician with style!

Stained Glass for Teens (ages 12+)
Learn how to cut glass, foil and assemble pieces into windows, sun catchers, boxes, panel lamps, etc. using the copper foil method. There will be patterns, but students can also bring their own ideas.

Teen Blacksmithing (ages 13+)
Learn basic forging techniques, including how to build and maintain a coal fire, and use new skills to make small projects, such as hooks, fire pokers and hand forged jewelry.

Adult Summer Semester Catalog Now Available

We just posted the new online catalog on our website. It’s in a PDF format which makes for easy printing. It also has live links to class information and registration.

The summer semester for adult classes and workshops runs from June 21- August 20. The majority of classes are now in-person (we’re so happy!), but we’re continuing several online classes for those not quite ready to come back to the Center, or who live out of town.

Class sizes for on-campus gatherings continue to be limited and with a strict masking mandate and safety protocols in place. We will stay in touch with students regarding any changes in safety guidelines for GAC for the coming months.

Financial Aid Forms Due June 11

Prospective GAC students are encouraged to apply for financial aid if it will better enable them to enroll in classes. Aid is based on need and may be limited to classes that do not otherwise have full enrollment. Click here to download and print a financial aid form. For more information, please email info@guilfordartcenter.org.
