Pet Portraits, Great Give Thanks, Summer Reg, Mother’s Day Gifting & More

On Display in the GAC Lobby Gallery
Mary Beeman: Pet Portraits & More

Guilford’s Mary Beeman presents her beautiful and expressive watercolor pet and animal portraits and other images from May 5 – June 5. A longtime GAC painting student, Beeman discovered painting animals as “her thing” with instructor Joan Downey. “I’ve always been so grateful for the classes I took at GAC”, says Beeman. “They really fed my creative side and provided me with life-long friendships”.

Mary will share proceeds with GAC on any custom commission she receives during the course of her exhibition (what a great Mother’s Day gift!).

The lobby gallery is open Wednesday-Friday, 12-4pm and Saturday 10am-4pm. Admission is free and open to the community.

We asked. You answered.

Thank you to all who donated to The Great Give on behalf of Guilford Art Center. Your donations are vital and go a long way to help us weather this current financial situation. We pledge to use them wisely as we share art education and experiences with our community. We look forward to sharing all of that with you. If you missed The Great Give, you can still donate directly to GAC here.

Be part of the GAC Student Exhibition (yes, YOU!)

“My work isn’t good enough” … “I’m just a beginner” … “I’m too shy”.

We hear this all the time.

If that sounds like you, here’s what you need to know:
The GAC community is here to celebrate every student at every stage in their creative journey. Because art is from the heart. It is joy, experimentation, communication or consolation. There is no good or bad. There is just creative expression. And we want to share all of that with you and our supportive community.

The student exhibition in the gallery, June 25 – July 31. All students who have taken a GAC class between September 2019 and June 2021 are invited to participate. Work should be dropped off at GAC June 16-18.
