Familiar Faces in New Staff Positions

Ashley Seneco, GAC Program Assistant

“After working at Guilford Art Center since 2018 as a Visitor Service liaison, I have enjoyed getting to know our regular students and customers alike, as well as watching newcomers cultivate their relationships with the Center. Stepping into my new position as Program Assistant, I most look forward to having the opportunity to be more involved in the workshopping and organizing of events that bring our community together, and help it grow. I am a firm believer that art is for, and should be accessible to, everyone; so working in a space where I get to help make that a reality is a dream come true. It is truly a privilege to work in such a bright and positive environment, and to come in every day knowing you will leave inspired.”

Sue Singleton, GAC Visitor & Student Services

“One of the best parts of my position at GAC is connecting people to a class of interest to them. They discover the joy of that class and then return to continue in a new semester. My position also allows time to work with visitors in the GAC shop. I love seeing the appreciation customers have of all the handmade items in the shop. They pay great attention to the detail in each piece and they appreciate all of the work the artist has put into it. I’m very proud to work at GAC because of all the joy it brings to the community. Students, customers and visitors to the gallery shows are always extremely grateful of all that we do. It’s a pleasure to work with the GAC staff!”

Bunnies, Birds & Blooms

After the grays of winter, what a treat to welcome the exuberant work of CT artist Barbara Hernandez into THE SHOP. Find coasters, mugs and trivets printed with images of richly colored birds, flowers and animals. The Shop is open 7 days a week. All GAC members receive 10% off all purchases year-round. Open Monday – Saturday, 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm.

Mask Policy Update

With the beginning of the spring semester (March 28), we are no longer requiring masks to be worn on our campus, in accordance with guidance from the CDC, the state of Connecticut, and the town of Guilford. We expect that many of our students, instructors and visitors will choose to continue wearing a mask, and will appreciate others doing the same, and we fully support this position. Please also be assured that, should guidance surrounding masking and other safety measures change, GAC will adapt and let you know.
