Young Artists at Work, Volunteer for Expo, Wood Artist, July Workshops

The Summer Youth Program is rolling along!

We’re almost finished with a very fun and creative Week #2. Registration remains open and weekly sessions continue through the week of August 14.
Note: Next week youth classes run Wed-Friday only. GAC will be closed on Tuesday, July 4. Adult classes will be held Monday, July 3.




July 15 & 16: So Many Workshops, So Little Time

Saturday, July 15, 10:00am-4:00pm
Make jewelry using just a few tools, easily done in a small space. Explore rivets, wrapping, using tabs, tying and epoxying. This is a good workshop for students who don’t want to use a jewelry torch, but wants to attach items to jewelry or metal objects. Fee payable with tuition $25. Tuition $230. Members $207.

THE FINE LINE & DELICACY OF PEN & INK WORKSHOP Saturday, July 15, 10:00am-12:00pm
One of the quieter mediums, pen and ink can give you subtle and fragile line and can create shadow and value with cross hatching, stippling and using long and graceful strokes. Learn the distinctive qualities of this beautiful art form. Tuition $26. Members $23.40

ART POSTCARDS & GREETING CARD WORKSHOP Saturday, July 15, 1:00-4:00pm
Create individual or a series of mixed-media, mailable artworks using collage, paint, markers, pencils, various types of paper and cardboard and found objects. The instructor will give information about organizations who match up pen-pals or distribute cards to those in need, or students can simply mail their own creations. Fee payable with tuition $15. Tuition $39. Members $35.10

Sunday, July 16, 10:00am-4:00pm
Make several rings that stack; each ring is different, yet all go together. Using assorted wire of different thicknesses and width, we will shape them into rings, solder them and use hammers to create textures. Estimated cost of materials $10-$30. Tuition $230. Members $207.

The 64th Annual Craft Expo will return to the Guilford Green July 14-16. We hope you’ll join us for this annual event, where you can shop from 170+ artists and makers from across the country. Click here for all the info.
