Call for Artists: Guilford Art League 73rd Annual Juried Exhibit & Sale

The Guilford Art League welcomes exhibiting artists for its 73rd Annual Juried Exhibit & Sale to be held in the Mill Gallery at Guilford Art Center from September 13 – October 2, 2021. The show, juried by Lenny Moskowitz, is open to Connecticut artists working in all media including oils, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, sculpture, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and photography. Several monetary prizes and notable awards will be announced at the Opening Reception on Friday, September 17, 6-8pm.

Moskowitz, a Connecticut landscape painter who lives in New Haven, says that while “the artists’ skill sets and techniques are important, equally important is originality! If the subject is familiar, it must be presented in an original way.”

Artists are invited to enter up to two pieces of art. Entry fees for GAL members are $12 for one entry, $20 for two; non-members pay $18 for one entry, $30 for two. Entries must be delivered to the Mill Gallery at Guilford Art Center (411 Church Street, Guilford, CT 06437) on Saturday, September 11 between 10am and 1pm. Accepted works will be posted on the GAL website by September 14.

The Guilford Art League was founded in 1947 by a small group of local artists. The objective of the art league is to promote and stimulate interest in the visual arts. Members and associates of the Guilford Art League are a participating and interactive group of artists who learn and benefit from their association with one another.
