Welcome to our Summer Semester!

Adult Programs

Summer semester classes and workshops will begin the week of June 21 and are offered for adults (ages 13+). The summer semester runs from June 21 – August 20. Registration will be online only.

The semester will continue to be a hybrid of on-campus and online offerings. Class sizes for on-campus gatherings will continue to be limited and with a strict masking mandate and all other protocols in place, in order to operate safely.

Classes and workshops are available in a variety of mediums, including beading, blacksmithing, calligraphy, drawing, fiber arts including hand and machine sewing, metal and jewelry making, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, weaving and special interest workshops in collage and mixed media.

Youth Programs

Weekly sessions will begin the week of June 21 for children ages 5 – 12 years and teens. The summer semester runs from June 21 – August 20. Registration will be online only.

The summer program features weekly on-campus sessions; youth can attend half-day or full-day. Bridge care will be available. There will also be weekend workshops and online workshops offered throughout the summer.

Classes and workshops are available in a variety of mediums, including beading, jewelry making, leather working, metalsmithing, painting, paper arts (paper quilling), pottery (hand-building and potters’ wheel), recycled material art, shell crafts, sculpture, weaving and special interest online workshops in drawing and mixed media. Teen classes include blacksmithing, leatherworking and stained glass.

Financial aid is available; applications can be found at www.guilfordartcenter.org and are due June 11.

FINANCIAL AID
Financial aid is available for adults and children based on need and interest. Forms are available on our website (see Financial Aid, under SCHOOL tab) and should be emailed to info@guilfordartcenter.org or mailed to GAC, PO Box 589, Guilford, CT 06437. Must be returned by January 4, 2021.

CANCELLATION, REFUND, AND PRIVACY POLICIES
If a program is oversubscribed when a student’s payment is received, the student will be notified and the full amount will be refunded or may be applied toward another course. If a class or workshop is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, students will be notified and full tuition will be refunded or may be applied toward another course. Students who withdraw from a class or workshop up to two weeks before the first class are eligible for a full refund. Up to one week before the first class, students who withdraw are eligible for a credit, less a $25 registration fee. After that, consideration can only be given with a written medical excuse, or in the case of other extraordinary circumstances. Credits may only be for classes going forward from the date excuse is received by Guilford Art Center.

Students missing a regularly scheduled class will not receive a refund or a makeup class.

Classes not held due to bad weather or instructor’s absence will be rescheduled, usually at the end of the semester. Call 203.453.5947 for weather cancellations, which will be announced on the main phone message line .

GUILFORD ART CENTER reserves the right to change its calendar, withdraw or modify course of instruction or substitute instructors at anytime.
