GAC Features Art of Healthcare Professionals in New Gallery Exhibition, “In Good Hands”

Especially since the pandemic, people are turning towards the arts for strength, resilience and healing. In Guilford Art Center’s gallery exhibition, IN GOOD HANDS, the Center seeks to demonstrate how art has helped healthcare professionals, who are bearing an increased toll. How do their abilities to observe creatively in their jobs translate to their art? How do they engage with art’s joyful, therapeutic benefits?

This exhibition, held August 12 – September 3, celebrates some answers through the art of these heralded community members.

Over 30 healthcare professionals have submitted paintings, drawings, sculptures, glass, fiber arts, photography, jewelry, and mixed media. There are no requirements for level of experience or skill, either in art or the healthcare field. This exhibition is about the inspiration and benefits that comes with making art for people who work in all levels of the health profession.

The Gallery at Guilford Art Center is open 7 days a week and is free to all. Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm. 411 Church Street, Guilford.
