We just completed the 9th week of our summer programming for kids ages 5-12. They had a great time expressing their creativity, working together, and connecting with peers. Especially after the past year and a half of challenges for all, making art can be a mood-lifting, mindful, positive pursuit, and we’re thrilled these kids had a chance to engage with art this summer. It was simply wonderful to have them back on campus, with their enthusiasm and sense of fun.
Our GAC instructors offered great old favorites (many pottery classes and “mixed bag” introductions to different media) and some unique new techniques (paper making, shell crafts, paper quilling, and more). We had a fantastic group of teen volunteers, who served as mentors for the kids, and a super-fun program coordinator, Kate Klein, who helped keep all running smoothly.
Join us again next summer! In the meantime, check out all the after-school kids classes and workshops we offer all year round. Click here for the fall catalog.
