CERAMICS  BIENNIAL 2024
Exhibition Dates: June 28-August 4, 2024
Call for Submissions Deadline: April 8, 2024

Juror: Kathy King, an active studio artist in the Boston area and is an Instructor and the Director of the Ceramics Program and Visual Arts Initiatives at the Office for the Arts at Harvard.

Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all works which use clay as the primary medium, both utilitarian and sculptural. The exhibition will present the variety of ways contemporary ceramics furthers craft traditions, explores innovative approaches, and serves as a medium for creating compelling new art works. Open to U.S. residents.

Awards: $500 in prizes to be awarded by the juror

GUILFORD ART CENTER HOLIDAY EXPO

Guilford Art Center is seeking craft artists to participate in our Holiday Expo running November 2 – January 7, 2024 this season. We are looking for artists that make glass, fiber, wood, jewelry, candles, soaps, personal care and holiday items and ornaments. GUILFORD ART CENTER CRAFT EXPO 2024 – Are you interested in exhibiting as an artist at Craft Expo — Guilford Art Center’s annual contemporary craft and art show and one of the most successful and long-running craft shows in America? The application process for Craft Expo 2024 is now open. Interested applicants may apply between now and January 3, 2024 on the Artrider website.

Craft Expo 2024 will be held July 19-21, 2024 on the Guilford Green. More than 170 modern makers from across the country will display and sell their fine craft in a variety of media, including Clay, Food, Glass, Leather, Metal and Non-Metal Jewelry, Wearable and Fiber for the Home, Metal, Mixed Media, Paper, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Soap and Wood. Popular amenities for this three-day event include a food court, a family art tent with kid craft activities, and the chance to bid on donated craft pieces at the show’s annual silent auction.

Proceeds raised through the silent auction and nominal entrance fees benefit the non-profit Guilford Art Center and its year-round calendar of gallery and school art education programs for students of all ages and skill levels.

POTTERY RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Guilford Art Center supports a pottery residency program for emerging artists. The residency is one year long, beginning September. The position will provide opportunities, in the form of working time and space, for artists to develop their own ceramic art while contributing to the workings of a communal pottery studio in an educational environment. TEACHING POSITIONS
Teaching positions are available for semester long classes and weekend workshops. Consideration is given to those with prior teaching experience and to curriculum that complements the programs at the Center.
