Guilford Art Center is pleased to announce an exhibition of ceramic work, “Lessons”, by Nicole Ginzburg, GAC’s resident potter, in the art gallery from August 11 – September 3, 2023. The community is invited to meet Nicole at a free Opening Reception event on Friday, August 11, 5-7pm.
In 2021, Ginzburg graduated from Pratt Institute with a degree in industrial design and a minor in ceramics. After graduation, Nicole began her position as the resident potter at Guilford Art Center. Her two-year residency has allowed her to greatly deepen her passion for craft, learning, and teaching people of all ages and skill levels.
“My position as the resident potter at Guilford Art Center began only a few months after completing my undergraduate degree,” says Ginzbug. “Being outside of the privileged limitations of a school environment has allowed me to embrace the all-encompassing beauty of life and its internal and external worlds. My show ‘Lessons’ is a collection of ceramic vessels that act as a physical representation of the mind. Each mug, vase, bowl, and dish in the show is filled with newly acquired insights gained from within and bestowed upon me from the cherished people in my life.”
“The pieces in my show are a manifestation of my world and my perceptions of it,” Ginzburg continues, “but ultimately, the beauty of pottery lies in the act of sharing. I hope that the viewers of my show can use their time in the gallery to reflect on and connect with their own journeys.”
The community is invited to meet Nicole and view her work at a free Opening Reception Gallery on Friday, August 11, 5-7pm.
GAC gallery hours are Wednesday-Friday, 12-4pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. Admission is free and open to the community.
