Your Giving Keeps Us Going #GivingTuesday

Your giving keeps us going.

On this day of global generosity, we hope you know how much we value your support. Your support is key in bringing art’s transformative power to our community. We ask that you continue your generous support for our mission.

Every single dollar makes a difference for us. If you’re able to give to Guilford Art Center’s annual fund, it is greatly appreciated. The arts benefit so many, whether it be making, learning, appreciating or collecting. Thank you for doing your part to ensure the vitality of the arts in our community.

It’s been a creatively inspiring and full year. And we can’t wait to share a new year of growth, inspiration and creativity with you!

It was a busy summer for kids at GAC. Our summer youth program was happily thronged: we served 315 young artists in 650 spots, a 15% increase from last year, and a new record number for this program. Summer programming is a crucial way that we serve children and families with the benefits of the arts—important, since kids have so many other summer activity options.

Students were thrilled with new equipment donations. You wonderful donors helped provide great new equipment for our studios. Thanks to this generosity, we now have new seating in our school and a fantastic retractable outdoor awning providing a shaded area for our youth and blacksmithing students. We also have two new much-needed electric kilns for our busier-than-ever ceramics program, and two new looms for the weaving studio. Our students are grateful and we are thrilled to offer this improved experience.

Everyone loved Craft Expo. This signature event was a great success this year. As one of our board members put it: “We raised critical funding for the mission while realizing the mission through the event–fantastic!” Last year, when we had to close the show Sunday, we shored-up the artisans by sharing online shopping links, and our donors stepped up to stanch GAC’s shortfall. Thankfully, there was no shortfall this year, and your support by attending the show helped us reach our goal. Proceeds from the popular Silent Auction additionally benefitted our community outreach programs.

Gallery exhibitions highlighted creativity and community. Our summer Ceramics Biennial included gorgeous examples from across the nation, very inspirational for our students and visitors. We finished the summer season with a fabulous exhibition of art by GAC students and our Resident Potter, Jess Reeve, a celebration of the creativity and talent fostered in our our studios.

Thank you for all you do to support the benefits of the arts in our community.
We will always stay in touch with happenings at GAC. All made possible by your generosity.
