Creating Art & Community: Please Support GAC & Great Give

We deeply appreciate your continued support of Guilford Art Center. The donation period closes at 8 pm tonight!

Your generosity plays a vital role in helping us achieve our dual mission: expanding student learning and enhancing our facilities. As a nonprofit, tuition covers only 60% of expenses so your donations are crucial to sustaining and growing our programs to larger audiences.

With your continuing support we seek to:

  • Expand free outreach programs that serve communities with limited access to the arts. We do this in partnership with such organizations as Lumability, a program for adults with intellectual disabilities, Guilford A Better Chance, and the Connecticut Violence Intervention and Prevention program. This past year we provided transformative art experiences to over 200 individuals in these programs.
  • Maintain and improve our facilities, ensuring they remain accessible for our thriving educational programs and community engagement efforts. Future projects include important gallery maintenance, equipment upkeep and replacement (looms, pottery wheels), and purchase of equipment for new class offerings.

If you joined us at Madison Cinemas in October for board member Jenifer McShane’s documentary The Quilters, you witnessed a beautiful example of art’s healing and connective powers. Short-listed for an Academy Award, the film follows a group of men who sew quilts for foster children in the sewing room of a Missouri prison, portraying their struggles, creativity, and pride.

It is in this spirit that we express our gratitude to you for helping GAC to bring the benefits and joys of art to all in our community.
