IN THE GALLERY
The Guilford Art League’s 77th Annual Juried Exhibit & Sale is the Gallery from September 8 – September 27. The show, juried by Laura Leonard, features work by Connecticut artists in all media including oils, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, sculpture, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and photography.
Gallery hours: Monday – Saturday, 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm. Entry is free.
IN THE LOBBY
Paintings from new Guilford resident Marjan Babaie Nasr are now on display and for purchase in our lobby area. Originally from Bologna, Italy, she studied painting (bachelors and masters) at the Univ of Bologna, and worked as assistant instructor at the Academies of Fine Arts of Bologna and Revenna, Italy.
IN THE SHOP
Pottery with Nature in Mind
Artist Allie Stack from AshevIlle, NC creates earthy ceramic work in the shapes of leaves and flowers. Use them on their own, or buy a set for a really unique table-scape perfect for the fall. Works feature plates, bowls, vases and berry bowls.
The Shop at GAC is open 7 days a week. GAC members receive 10% off purchases.

IN THE SCHOOL
Frontier Knife & Hatchet Workshop
5 days beginning September 25, 10am-5pm. In this 5-day intensive workshop, students will make a frontier style knife with a wood handle. Next steps are to hot punch a hole through 1/4″ round stock to forge a hatchet that will then be fit with a hickory handle. Students must be able to swing a sledge hammer. Open to all levels. Fee payable with tuition $80. Tuition $875, Members $787.50
Free Drop-In Workshop for Middle School Students
Wednesday, Sept 24 and Wednesday, October 22, 1:15 – 3:15pm. Middle School students are welcome to drop to work on art projects for the afternoon. They can also do independent exploration with materials on hand. Adams Middle School students can walk or take Bus 24 to GAC. No need to register.

Volunteers Needed for Designers Circus Event
