“The craft revival is more than a hobbyist trend — it’s a manifesto for a world increasingly alienated by its own technology…Innovation need not erase tradition…a quilt can be both ancient and avant-garde, a rebellion stitched one thread at a time…” Bob Lynn, Medium
At Guilford Art Center, we’ve known for nearly 60 years: creating by hand connects us—to ourselves, to one another, and to something timeless. Today, that connection feels more urgent and necessary than ever. Your gift can make a difference and an impact.
What does this impact look like? Your donations this past year helped GAC:
- Enroll 3,200 students (including 800 kids) in our school.
- Host 6 exhibitions in our gallery—open 7 days a week and always free of charge.
- Welcome 6,500 visitors and 160+ exhibiting artists at Craft Expo.
- Support 250+ artisans in our beautiful Shop and Holiday Expo.
- Offer free outreach programming to 200+ community members, expanding the impact and benefit of the arts.
- Serve 135 guests at our 12th annual Soup for Good event, raising important funds for GAC and the Guilford Food Bank, crucially important this year.
For the coming year we plan to continue:
- Expanding our class offerings to welcome even more voices and styles
- Bringing in new instructors who spark inspiration across generations
- Creating more art opportunities, inside and beyond our studios
- Improving our campus, ensuring GAC is here for generations to come
We thank you for your generosity and for being a part of a creative movement grounded in real-life joy, shared experiences, and the belief that art matters.
Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, and creative holiday season.
Maureen Belden, GAC Executive Director
