Want to learn a fun and functional mending skill? Darning is a playful meditative practice rooted in sustainability. In this introductory workshop you’ll learn how to repair holes and strengthen thinning spots in knit clothing and textiles through a unique method of weaving yarn or thread with a needle. It sometimes works on looser-weave fabrics too. Bring one or more well-loved clothing items with holes or threadbare areas. Worn socks are great to begin with and scarves, sweaters, hats, knit throw blankets etc. are also welcome. Extra items to practice on will be available for those who don’t bring their own or want to start on a low stakes project. Open to beginner and experienced textile crafters alike.
