Think you’re not “artistic”? Think again.
You don’t need experience, special skills, or even know what you’re doing to get started. Our fall classes and workshops for adults, teens and kids are welcoming places to try something new, get creative, and enjoy making something with your hands. From painting and pottery to metals & jewelry, fiber, blacksmithing, and more, all levels are welcome. Many classes begin the week of September 14. Tuition assistance is available. The application deadline is September 4.

Time for Tea
The summer has been wonderful, but there are a few in our office who feel ready for fall. A cross-stitched patterned teapot by Bracken Fern Handmade Ceramics in the Hudson Valley would make perfect pots of tea on a cool autumn day! Dishwasher, food and microwave safe. $125

Chop Chop! Make a Tomahawk Next Weekend
Forging a Tomahawk Workshop: Session B
August 29 – August 30
Saturday, Sunday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Instructor: Aidan Garrity
Students will forge a tomahawk from start to finish, using the traditional slit and drift method to form the head and create the eye. The instructor will also demonstrate the wrap and weld technique and explain how and when the different approaches are used. Hands on blacksmithing topics include shaping the head, drifting and sizing the eye, fitting and finishing a handle, grinding and polishing the bit, heat treating for strength, and final sharpening—so you’ll learn both technique and the why behind each step. More info & registration HERE.
CALL FOR ARTISTS
Local artists (Connecticut, New England) are encouraged to submit two works in all physical mediums for the upcoming exhibition “Remember You Must Live: On Life, Loss and Impermanence.” Submission deadline is August 30. For more information, click HERE.
