Classes and workshops for youth and teens are offered year-round at Guilford Art Center. We offer in-person instruction on campus, utilizing our freshly renovated classrooms, pottery studio and metals studio. Our professional instructors have years of experience in guiding young artists as they learn to express their creativity and artistic abilities.
Class offerings change every semester, but generally include ceramics, drawing, cartooning, mixed media, up cycling, painting, sculpture and more.
Your child can explore their creativity all year long! We offer kids art classes and workshops for children 5 years and older, all led by professional instructors who will nurture your child and develop their love of art. Art classes for teens play an important role in developing creativity and self-expression. There are a multitude of benefits beyond just learning how to draw or paint; art-making nurtures creativity, promotes emotional well-being, enhances critical thinking skills, and boosts self-esteem. GAC offers unique teen art classes and workshops, including blacksmithing, leatherworking, and stained glass. Plus, all teens older than 13 are eligible to join any adult class.
Guilford Art Center offers tailored programs for homeschoolers, designed to cater to their specific needs. With our team of professional instructors skilled in various mediums, we can engage your children in activities that nurture creativity and ignite their passion for art-making.
Summer is the perfect time for kids to experience the joy of art! GAC’s annual summer art camp experiences are geared towards developing your child’s creative expression, artistic skills and social interaction through hands-on activities. These week-long sessions are open to children ages 5 –12 years with morning and afternoon sessions available. Weekly programs are built around popular themes and craft techniques. Our professional instructors are experienced in teaching children in a caring way, sharing their knowledge of painting, drawing, sewing, sculpture, pottery, cartooning, and so much more. There are also classes for teens, including stained glass making (ages 12+) and blacksmithing (ages 13+).
