What a fantastic Craft Expo we had this weekend!
It was a tremendous success, with beautiful weather all three days, and a fantastic roster of exhibitors who enthused about their experience this year. We heard all weekend long from the exhibitors that the Guilford show has such a great vibe, that the customers are so lovely, knowledgeable, and supportive. We also appreciate our warm and enthusiastic volunteers.
As you know Craft Expo is GAC’s largest fundraiser. We depend upon it for our organization’s educational programs and operations. We simply cannot put on this show without your help. We truly appreciate everyone’s support, whether you were a shopper, volunteer, sponsor or visitor. It truly takes a village!

A National Juried Exhibition, from June 28 – August 4
This exhibition presents contemporary works in clay, both functional and non-functional, by over 40 American artists from across the nation. It represents a fascinating overview of the variety of ways ceramic artists further craft traditions, explore innovative approaches, and utilize this ancient medium for creating compelling new works. The gallery is open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat, 10am-4pm, Sun 12-4pm); free entry.
CALL TO ARTISTS: Local Artist Showcase at Guilford Art Center Holiday Expo
Guilford Art Center is thrilled to announce a call for artists to submit two-dimensional work to sell in the upcoming 2024 Holiday Expo event. We invite emerging and established artists to submit their original works for consideration.
The display and sale of two-dimensional works will be part of GAC’s annual Holiday Expo shopping event from November 1 through January 5, 2025. All pieces will be hung in the gallery space.
Artists are invited to submit up to five pieces, with selection to be juried by our in-house staff. Pieces will be on view for 9 weeks and must be available for sale. Consignment will be a 50/50% split which helps to support GAC’s educational programming.
To apply please submit three high resolution images along with titles and a brief description to ealbergo@guilfordartacenter.org.
Submission will be ongoing starting August 1, 2024. Notification of acceptance/rejection will be given within three weeks of application. Artwork delivery will start on October 7. All work must arrive in ready-to-hang condition.

CALL TO ARTISTS: GAC Student Exhibition
GAC adult students who have taken a class since 2022 are invited to show one piece of artwork created in a GAC class, or as a result of study in a class. All works that meet requirements will be accepted. Come show our visitors the great work you are inspired to create here at GAC!
Exhibition dates: August 16-September 1, 2024
Opening reception: Friday, August 23, 5-7pm
