Classes Kick-Off, Greenstage, Gallery Opening & More

The GreenStage festival is in full swing this weekend in Guilford. Enjoy more than 25 free live performances and family-friendly events on and around the Guilford Green. We are especially thrilled to be hosting a music and spoken word performance that will respond to the art from the Guilford Art League in our gallery. Join us in the gallery on Monday, Sept 18 at 7pm to hear performance by Ilana Zaks and Alexa Patrick. Free and open to all.

Boundary-breaking violinist and Seattle Symphony member performs at GAC on Sept 18, but will also perform the festival-commissioned suite “The Sounds of New England” on violin and electronics on Sept 24 on the Green. More info about Ilana

 


 

Fall Classes Begin Next Week

Have you decided on a class or workshop? Check out our catalog for the full list of offerings for adults, teens and kids. There is something for everyone. Register online ASAP – some classes start next week, however, there are many others plus workshops that begin throughout the month.

 


 

GAL Gallery Reception, Thursday, Sept 14

The Guilford Art League will host an Opening Reception on Thursday, September 14, 5-7pm in the GAC Gallery. Several monetary prizes and notable awards will be announced. The show, juried by Jeanne Criscola, is open to Connecticut artists working in all media including oils, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, sculpture, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and photography. The reception is free and open to all.

 


 

Teen Art Club to Meet Friday, Sept 29

The GAC Teen Art Club will hold their first meeting of fall season on Friday, September 29 from 2:30-4:30pm at GAC. All teens are welcome to join – it doesn’t matter where you go to school or if you have any experience. All you need is a desire to create and be with like-minded people. And have fun of course! The Circus is Back in Town this October!

Mark your fashion calendars for one of the best shopping events of the season. Designers Circus, a Boston-based clothing pop-up, features 30-70% off clothing and accessories from US and global small-scale designers. Our gallery will be filled with items – think ahead to Christmas presents or some great finds for yourself.

 


 

What’s New in The Shop?

Fiber wall hanging by artist Stephanie Elliott are in our shop for sale. Come view them in person – they are so finely detailed and heirloom-quality. The Shop is open 7 days a week. Mon-Sat 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm. GAC members receive 10% off all purchases.
