Craft Expo: Yarn Bombing & More with Marsha Borden

Yarn Bombing by GAC Instructor Marsha Borden

See a colorful yarn installation created by artist and GAC instructor Marsha Borden. This installation will be located near the food court. Borden has been completing outdoor soft sculpture installations and yarn bombs in CT for many years, including the Univ of Connecticut Avery Point, Pratt House at Essex Historical Society, Spectrum Art Gallery and now at Craft Expo 2026!

Then! Create a handmade skein of yarn as a Craft Expo souvenir, Saturday, July 18, 1am – 2pm.

Many fiber artists (knitting, crocheting, weaving, etc.) end up with oddments of leftover yard. These yarn bits are too good to throw away, but too random to use for any sort of project – until now! GAC instructor Marsha Borden will show you how to turn these seemingly useless scraps into wonderful balls of self-made yarn. If you can tie a simple knot, you can create incredibly beautiful skeins of colorful yarn to take away as a souvenir of Craft Expo.
