Successful Summer Youth Art Program Concludes
What a creative time!
Our young artists stayed busy and super creative this summer, participating in a wide variety of classes each week including pottery, sewing, metalworking, painting, drawing, blacksmithing, stained glass and so much more. We hope to see you back in our studios this fall for more fun and inspiring times!
Youth Fall Programs Registering Now
We offer classes and workshops throughout the fall for kids ages 5 and older, plus teens! Peruse our catalog and find offerings in ceramics, drawing (including more cartooning!), sewing, leather, mixed media , marionette making, painting, paper quilling and blacksmithing for teens. How does art inspire those working in the field of healthcare? How do their abilities to observe creatively in their jobs translate to their art? How do they engage with art’s joyful, therapeutic benefits? Guilford Art Center is exploring these questions through a celebration of artwork by these heralded community members. GAC’s proceeds from sales will be donated to a charity supporting medical needs in Ukraine.

Do you know what “hypertufa” is?
Hypertufa is an ancient concrete like art form largely used for container gardening and garden sculptures. Instructor Lyn Magill will lead another workshop (these have been popular this year!) in this special art form. Students will use a special recipe of Portland cement, sand, peat moss and perlite to create a garden planter that is embellished with your personal carvings, embedded treasures and creative design work.
