FEBRUARY CLASSES/WORKSHOPS FOR YOUTH & TEENS

Teen Blacksmithing: Session B
Instructor: Greg AmEnde
4 Tuesdays beginning Feb 4, 3:30-5:30PM

Open to teens 13+.This class will teach basic forging techniques; build and maintain a col fire, and use the new skills to make small projects like hooks, fire pokers and hand forged jewelry.

Art Extravaganza: Session B (age 7+)
Instructor: Amy Peters
4 Tuesdays beginning Feb 4, 4-5:30pm

Explore a bonanza of art materials while learning about artists throughout history. Each week we’ll focus on a different artist and art medium. REGISTER

Caregiver/Child Together: Valentine’s Day Love Box Workshop (ages 5+)
Instructor: Carole Firth
Feb 8, 1-3pm

Share a fun afternoon with your special little one(s),creating a Love Box that can be a gift or place to keep beloved treasures. Embellish your boxes with paint, lovebirds, flower petals, heart foil, botanical papers and more.

Unified/Special Needs Art Experience: Session B (ages 5+)
Instructor: Carole Firth
4 Mondays beginning Feb 10, 4-5:30pm

A unique art experience for special needs artists and their siblings and peers to explore creativity in an open and supportive environment. Children will paint, collage, create sculptures, build with clay and more; work at their own pace and choose materials of interest. REGISTER

 


 

FEBRUARY VACATION WORKSHOPS

Clay Explorations (ages 7+)
Instructor: Carole Firth
Feb 17, 9am-12pm

Let’s sclupt clay animals in their habitat, birds in nests, decorative bowls and more. Using air drying class we’ll learn to slab, pinch pot and coiling techniques to create unique clay treasures. REGISTER

Still Life Watercolor Painting (ages 7+)
Instructor: Carole Firth
Feb 18, 9am-12pm

Learn still life painting techniques using colorful watercolor pencils on canvas.Perspective and realistic drawing, overlapping objects and color combinations will be taught. REGISTER

We’re looking ahead to spring already! Here are the dates for spring semester registration. We’ll have the catalog out at the end of the month so you can begin to plan for your classes. All registration will be online.

THE SHOP AT GAC

This “bee snug” warming cushion is perfect for cold days. Warm it in the microwave, then mold it to wherever you need it – it’s great on the back of your neck or to keep your feet warm at night. Infused with lavender and chamomile for relaxation, neroli & geranium to alleviate stress, and rose and ylang ylang for emotional uplifting. $40.

GAC FACULTY EXHIBIT
Opening Reception Friday, Jan 31, 5-7pm

Our gallery kicks off its 2025 season with a multi-media exhibition featuring work by our faculty on Friday, Jan 31. Featured gallery works include ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber art, metals, and sculpture by members of GAC’s professional faculty. The free opening reception is scheduled for Friday, January 31 from 5-7pm.

 


 

Winter Class & Workshop Registration

You can register now for all remaining classes and workshops for our Winter semester which runs through March. Many classes have begun but there are lots more opportunities for classes and workshops over the next 2 months.
