Take a peak at the The Guilford Art League’s 74th Annual Juried Exhibit & Sale at Guilford Art Center. The show, juried by Jeanne Ciravolo, is open to Connecticut artists working in all media including oils, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, sculpture, collage, mixed media, printmaking, and photography. All are welcome to browse the gallery for this beautiful show. Doors are open 7 days a week through October 1, 2022.

Youth Halloween Workshops
Get your kids into the spirit of Halloween – and create decorations you’ll want to use every year. Register now for these two workshops:
Terracotta Pumpkins Workshop (ages 5+)
Saturday, October 8, 10:30am-12:00pm
Children love building their own scary or funny Jack-o-lantern with terra cotta clay. Students will receive instruction and guidance to learn the coil hand building technique. They will then have a chance to become creative to give their pumpkin a personality. Time permitting we will tour the pottery to see the kiln where their Jack-O-Lanterns are fired. After they are dry and fired they’ll be ready to take home to enjoy for years to come. Members:$37.50 Non-Members $33.75
Halloween Marionette Workshop (ages 6+)
Saturday, October 15, 10:00am-12:00pm
This workshop is a fun way to get ready for Halloween. We will make a simple marionette with its own Halloween personality. Then we will have a good time, making them dance, and fly. These puppets will also make great decorations when hung up for Halloween. Students will need to bring supplies and should check the full class description when registering. Members:$30 Non-Members $27
Preparing for the Holidays
Work has been ongoing to prepare the shop for this years’ annual shopping event, called “Holiday Expo”. Doors will open Friday, October 28 through the holidays. Our shop and gallery will be filled with handmade work by American artists in all media. We know you’ll find something for everyone on your gift list.
Mark your calendars for the Opening Reception (the first one we’ve had in 2 years!) on Thursday, November 3, 5-7 pm. We’ll enjoy holiday cheer and a fun raffle of beautiful items.
Also, GAC Members week runs October 28 – November 4. All GAC members receive 15% off all purchases in the Shop. Get your shopping done early and save! Members receive 10% through the rest of the event.
Interested in submitting work to Holiday Expo?
We are accepting applications from artists who would like to include their work in Holiday Expo. We will review everything from ornaments, ceramics, glass, wood, leathergoods, clothing, jewelry, accessories, children’s games & clothing, papergoods, hats/gloves, food and so much more.

New Work by Jewelry Artist Susan Roberts
The colors in Susan’s new jewelry are simply mesmerizing. The transparent yellow stones are citrine, the large pendant is Bumblebee Jasper, and the larger transparent stone on the bracelet is lemon quartz. Completely unique pieces that will compliment outfits worn for casual outings or dressy events.
