Over the past year, we’ve thrown open the doors for even more community events and engagement opportunities … student art clubs, poetry open mic nights, gallery tours for youth groups, and community art making … just to name a few. All fantastic stuff! But the greater number of people using our spaces takes a toll on our facilities. So this year our fundraising has to focus on less “forward-facing” aspects of our operations. Behind-the-scenes work, maintenance and essential expenses are crucial in keeping the Center running smoothly and preserving it for future generations to enjoy. Your Great Give donations will help directly support vital repair and equipment expenses:
- Our gallery/shop building needs significant attention. We recently had to replace the roof and now need to replace the siding, plus add a pump system to mitigate and prevent water damage.
- Year-round classes in our weaving and pottery studios are demanding on the equipment! We need to replace some old looms and add 2 more electric kilns.
- The furnace in the school building has served us well, but needs replacement.
