Intro to Blacksmithing, Session C
Instructor: Greg AmEnde
Saturday-Sunday, Dec 7-8, 10am-4pm

Learn the basics of forging steel in a fun and inclusive environment. Geared towards beginners, this workshop is designed to be educational and enjoyable for everyone. Students will learn techniques to build confidence in the forge. Students will shape and forge hot steel using a hammer and anvil to complete a variety of projects. Fee payable with tuition $45

The Art of the Japanese Blade
Instructor: Mace Vitale
Thursday – Monday, Dec 12-16, 10am – 5 pm

In this 5-day intensive students will learn to forge a traditional Japanese tanto blade. The blades will be ground and filed clean. Heat treat will be done with a clay coating to create the “Hamon” or hardening line separating the hard edge from the soft spine. Blades will then be polished and etched to reveal their true beauty. Fee payable with tuition $70

Elves and Bells Clay Gingerbread House Holiday Workshop
(choose one of 3 Saturdays in December!)
Instructor: Janice Baker

Come celebrate the season at GAC in this fun, holiday children’s workshop. During the session, young artists will be able to make clay/mixed media “gingerbread houses.” We will decorate our houses with a variety of festive materials such as gingerbread people, elves, stars, glitter, bells, beads, and holly leaves. We will listen to cheerful, seasonal music and sing along as we create!
While the children get creative, parents will have a chance to catch up on their gift shopping at GAC’s Holiday Expo in our shop and gallery.

Celebration of Light Workshop: Open to all generations with a child

Sunday, Dec 8, 2-4pm

Paint and decorate a small house that holds an electric candle. Reflect on the qualities you would like to illuminate in your home this holiday season and those you would like to share with your community. Please note: tuition and material fees are per person.
