Friday Night Pottery Workshop: Session B

In this relaxing one-night workshop, we will hand build and glaze a unique piece. Students are encouraged to come with an idea of the project, like a bowl, vase, platter, or garden art. Enjoy a creative night out with friends, make it a date night, or make new friends! Finished pieces will be available for pick up 2 to 3 weeks later.
Tentacle Techniques: Sculpting Workshop

Guided by GAC's resident ceramic artists, students will explore form-building methods, details like suction cups and curves, and techniques for attaching tentacles to both functional and sculptural pieces. Participants are welcome to bring their own leather-hard piece to incorporate into the project, but it’s not required. All skill levels are welcome.

Skilled instructors guide you through designing, wheel throwing, handbuilding, and glazing, helping you develop both functional pieces, and expressive sculptural work while exploring your personal style.

Kid’s Pottery: Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

Follow Alice’s adventures down the rabbit hole and create whimsical Wonderland-inspired pottery. Students will design imaginative clay pieces inspired by the story’s characters and settings, including an enchanted tea party and other fantastical elements. Returning students may explore new projects from the tale, such as the rose garden or croquet-inspired creations.
Wednesday Morning Ceramic Sculpture with Lisa Wolkow

For experienced students who would like to work sculpturally in clay, taking full advantage of everything that a ceramics studio can offer. Students will be introduced to ways of experimenting, working and thinking as sculptors, as well as techniques for constructing forms, building surfaces and firing. Students with a background in wheel work may want to explore hand building skills in conjunction with thrown forms.
