Participants are invited to practice awareness of their felt sense and work intuitively to create simple images using color, lines, shapes, and collage materials. Engage in a brief reflective writing process to explore their meaning for you. This workshop provides an introduction to the expressive arts process that may start or complement your self-care routine to reduce stress, gain insight, and foster well-being.

Learn the Art of Iris Folding – Valentine Cardmaking Workshop

Create beautiful square Valentine cards while learning the “Art of Iris Folding,” a paper-crafting technique where strips of decorative paper are folded and layered in a spiral pattern to form a design that resembles the iris of a camera or eye. Using different templates and a stunning assortment of papers, you’ll fold, layer, and assemble your design to completion, resulting in a one-of-a-kind card.

Students will have great flexiblity in creating their personal art projects, including 3 -D story dioramas, games, fairy houses, sculptures, cartoons, puppets or anything that you dream up. Guided by the teacher, children will have a chance to explore and use a wide range of art materials. We’ll have a short snack break, where we may explore the art gallery and outdoors.
Please bring a water bottle and snack.
