Splish, Splash, Splatter 6/23-27 Week 1

Explore the magical world of color and form as we create abstract works of art using liquid watercolors and mixed media. We will engage in a variety of painting techniques such as splatter, finger, dot, sponge painting and everyone’s favorite shaving cream and watercolor process. Projects will include paper mâché masks, tie dye t-shirts, windsocks, paper wall hangings and more.

Fun with Sewing 7/7-11 Week 3

Create, stitch, and bring your ideas to life with fun sewing projects like stuffed animals, pillows, and custom designs for clothing. Whether you’re fixing a button, patching up your favorite hoodie, or making fun stuff like a stuffed animal or a cool tote bag, sewing is both useful and creative. In this adventure, students will learn all the basics—stitching, embroidery, and even how to use a sewing machine. Let’s get stitching and bring your ideas to life!

Explore different ways to draw and paint on a variety of surfaces like clay, wood, fabric, aned mulberry paper. Let's create unique banners, collage boxes and simple pillows.

Decorative Arts Around The World 7/14-18 Week 4

From the beginning of time, humans decorated their environment from adorning their homes to embellishing their clothing. We will learn about decorative arts and crafts from around the world and throughout history by looking at the work of famous artists, craftsmen and folk artists. Some projects that students can choose from are: weave a small rug or wall hanging, paint a tea set and cutting board; decoupage a tray or jewelry box; create ceramic vases and toys; decorate clothing for themselves or a doll. The possibility are endless.  

Creative Air-Dry Clay: Session B 7/14-18 Week 4

Make a variety of objects such as luminaries and sculptures in clay with summer themes like birds, dragonflies, butterflies, bees, flowers, and sea life . Incorporate a variety of materials into the clay, like sea glass, beads and shells. Pieces will be finished with acrylic glazes.

Creative Pillows 8/11-15 Week 8

Mixed Media Classes

If you like working with fabric and creating colorful patterns and designs, then come join me for a fun filled week of pillow making and more. Students will design and construct pillows made from a variety of fabrics using various sewing and layering techniques. Fabric, thread and sewing needles will be provided and participants can bring fabric of their own. Students must have a basic working knowledge of sewing machines and how to sew by hand.
