Using materials from a New England family-owned mill and a sturdy metal peg loom, create a coordinating pair of trivets with your choice of color ways in a classic tabby weave, featuring herringbone and gingham patterns. You'll also learn how to read a weaving chart and some time-saving tips. Materials fee includes 100% cotton loops, printed weaving charts, and use of metal peg loom and hooks.

Floor Loom Weaving: Session B

Beginning students will learn to measure a warp, dress a four or eight-harness loom and draft basic patterns for weaving cloth. After completing a short sampler of traditional weave structures, they will plan, design and weave a project of their own choice with assistance from the instructor. More advanced students will be encouraged to either deepen their handweaving skills or try new methods as they complete their projects. Bench time available.

After completing a short sampler of traditional weave structures, they will plan, design and weave a project of their own choice with assistance from the instructor. More advanced students will be encouraged to either deepen their handweaving skills or try new methods as they complete their projects. Bench time available.

Rigid Heddle Loom Weaving

Rigid Heddle weaving is a great way to learn the basics of weaving and make a great product. Class covers the mechanics of a rigid loom, types of articles we can weave, weaving patterns, design ideas, and finishing. You’ll leave with a handmade piece you’ll be proud to show off or even use every day! Please note: NO class 1/19.

Sweetheart Twill Weaves Workshop

Using 100% cotton loop materials from a New England family-owned mill and a sturdy metal peg loom, create a coordinating pair of potholders with your choice of traditional or contemporary color schemes. You’ll finish at least one potholder in class and be able to complete the other at home. Printed weaving charts and 100% cotton weaving loops are included in materials fee; bring embroidery scissors. Metal peg loom and hooks available in class for $20 purchase.
