“I am a firm believer that art is for, and should be accessible to, everyone. Working in a space where I get to help make that a reality is a dream come true.”
Ashley is a Guilford native who holds a BA in Art History from the University at Albany. As program assistant, Ashley provides assistance coordinating upcoming gallery exhibitions, corresponding with various parties in preparation for Craft Expo, research and development of outreach programming, the planning of community events, and maintaining an engaging social media presence on GAC’s Instagram profile.
She also retains her duties as visitor services liaison, welcoming students and guests with information regarding the center, providing class registration services, and supporting shop staff by assisting with general tasks, as well as data entry and purchase orders.
“I’ve enjoyed getting to know our regular students and customers alike, as well as watching newcomers cultivate their relationships with the Center. Since stepping into my position as Program Assistant, I continue to appreciate every opportunity to be more involved in the workshopping and organizing of events that bring our community together, and help it grow. I am a firm believer that art is for, and should be accessible to, everyone. Working in a space where I get to help make that a reality is a dream come true. It is truly a privilege to work in such a bright and positive environment, and to come in every day knowing you will leave inspired.”
