EVA POLIZZI holds an MFA in Visual Arts and have been actively exhibiting and teaching for the past five years. “Ever since I remember, I’ve always been a maker, and I wanted to become a fiber artist. This desire was satisfied with self-taught skills mostly in my native Hungary until I moved to the United States almost two decades ago and began taking classes in weaving at FIT in New York City. I have always enjoyed working with very tactile materials, and the slow processes of fiber and ceramic work help me feel connected with and rooted in my surroundings. When I am asked where I am from, though, I realize I still feel suspended between two worlds: this and the other side of the Atlantic, but I know I am at home in my studio weaving, stitching, shaping clay or cooking up dye stuffs.”
