ART PLAYGROUND
Open to ages 5-7
June 24-28, 9:00am-12:00pm
Instructor: Nellie Shevelkina
Work with clay, make masks decorated with colorful tissue paper, build with wood and found natural objects. Explore painting with watercolor and colored sand. Make paper dolls, animals, birds, kinsects and imaginary creatures. Children will spend time cutting and folding paper, stomping, splashing, blending, mixing colors and drawing from observation to create portraits.

THE POWER OF LINE IN DRAWING
Open to ages 8-12
June 24-28, 9:00am-12:00pm
Instructor: Julia Peterson
Line is an important element of art; the line is a tool that many artists use to create. Students will learn how to use lines to make descriptive drawings of themselves and the world around them. Imagine a beautiful illustrative artwork of a sun breaking through a cloudy sky, and you look to see your child is the artist.

MASTER ARTIST A DAY
Open to ages 5-7
June 24-28, 1:00-4:00pm
Instructor: Renee Soares
This mixed media art class that will highlight the work of one Master Artist per day. Students will create work using the medium and technique of each individual artist while learning about their life as an artist. Selected Master Artists will range from past to present and will include the work of local improvisational quilty Ed Johnetta Miller. Fee payable with tuition $5.

MIXED MEDIA ART FUN: SESSION B
Open to ages 8-12
June 24-28, 1:00-4:00pm
Instructor: Carole Firth
Children will explore a variety of art materials and techniques to create interesting projects such as fairy globes and clay pots. We’ll create using a variety of techniques, including printmaking, collage, painting, drawing, paper mache, sculpture an dupcycling. Fee payable with tuition $10.

DECORATIVE ARTS AROUND THE WORLD
Open to ages 8-12
June 24-28, 1:00-4:00pm
Instructor: Nellie Shevelkina
Humans have always decorated their environment from adorning their homes to embellishing their clothing. We will learn about decorative arts and crafts from around the world and throughout history by looking at the work of famous artists, craftsmen and folk artists. Some projects that students can choose from are: weave a small rug or wall hanging, paint a tea set and cutting board, decoupage a tray or jewelry box, create cermic vases and toys, decorate clothing for themselves or a doll. The possibilities are endless.
