Shop Valentine’s Gifts
You’ll find plenty of unique, handcrafted gifts for everyone you love in The Shop at Guilford Art Center, open 7 days a week. We carry beautiful work created by American artists; jewelry, accessories, glass, ceramics, framed art, candles, homewares, wooden objects, scarves, body care and so much more. Lots of price points and options for all ages. All GAC members receive 10% off purchases in The Shop year-round. (It’s easy to get e membership – just click here!). Every purchase benefits the artist, as well as GAC’s mission to bring art into the community through the school, shop, gallery and events. The Shop is open 7 days a week: Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm.

New Shop Artist – Kitty Creo
We love Bridgeport artist Kitty Creo’s exuberant designs that come with a card with customized digital art. Kitty is “an art creator & a mental health professional. I come up with the creation ideas with this in mind: What product will be useful to my clientele, lift up their mood, and share with the people in their lives.”
Teen Cartooning Class Starts Feb 16
We’ve opened up a new Cartooning class for tweens and teens called DRAWING CARTOON ANIMALS FOR TWEENS & TEENS. It runs for 4 Thursdays, beginning February 16, 4 PM to 6 PM. Students will learn about the history of cartoons and the different drawing techniques using pencil, ink, and color. Students will learn to draw cartoon animals such as dogs, cats, dragons, ducks and more. Ultimately students will draw sequential cartoons to tell a story with and without words in speech bubbles. Fee payable to the instructor $36. Tuition $120 members $108. Instructor: Lynn Sheft

It felt like quite a celebration at the first gallery Opening Reception we’ve had since before the pandemic. A hearty group braved the cold temps and gathered to view the GAC Faculty Exhibition, a multi-media exhibit includes ceramics, painting, drawing, fiber art, metals, and sculpture. The gallery is open 7 days a week and always free to enter. Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm; Sunday 12-4pm. This exhibit runs through Feb. 26.

Honoring Black History Month
The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven is a major supporter of Guilford Art Center and a wide range of nonprofit organizations in our community. This is a great video about how they honor Black History Month.
2023 Gallery Schedule
The Gallery at Guilford Art Center presents exhibits of contemporary American art and craft and serves as a venue for a number of community arts organizations. It is open year-round and is always free to the public.
