In the Gallery: New Haven Paint & Clay Club Exhibit
The gallery is filled with a dynamic array of paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media pieces, each offering a unique perspective and narrative. From traditional landscapes to abstract compositions, the artworks on display promise to ignite imagination, provoke thought, and evoke emotional resonance. Click here for more info. The NHP&CC exhibit will be open from March 18 – April 12. All are welcome to the free Opening Reception on Sunday, March 24 from 1:00-3:00pm. The gallery is open 7 days a week. Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm; Sunday 12-4pm.
Ready to paint LARGE?
FLORAL PAINT ALONG WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 6, 10:30am-3:30pm
Instructor: Leonard Moskowitz
This one-day workshop is an opportunity to paint a 30″x30″ canvas. A guided “paint along”, great for any level experience; including those who wish to stretch their skills through working larger, and those who are new to painting. There will be a lot of room for playfulness. In addition, all materials (canvas, paint, brushes, etc.) will be provided and are included in the workshop fee, so just bring yourself! Fee payable with tuition $30.

INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Learn about digital camera settings and how to use them to be express your creativity. The goal is to get the most from your digital camera and develop your photographic eye. Students need a digital SLR camera (not a point and shoot).

BASICS OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

In this 4-hour session, learn to use your DSLR or mirrorless camera controls creatively. Topics will include how to use shutter speed, aperture and ISO to create the effect you want in your images. Basic principles of composition and design will be covered.

April 5 – Literary Open Mic Night at GAC
GAC is hosting a Literary Open Mic, Friday April 5 from 7PM – 9PM. GAC will welcome special guest Bookish Babes and Brews for a “Blind Date with a Book” that will coincide with the event.
The Literary Open Mic Night is a collaborative effort between Guilford Art Center and local social media influencer duo, Bookish Babes & Brews. This unique event aims to provide a platform for writers of all genres and backgrounds to showcase their work in a supportive and inclusive environment.Sign-ups start at 7, with performances by 7:30.
Performers are invited to read an example of their own written work of poetry, prose, short stories and excerpts from novels, but are also welcome to perform work written by someone else. Performance slots will be up to 10min long. Writers interested in participating are encouraged to sign up in advance; registrations are also accepted at the event. Patchwork Project is Complete
The final Patchwork Project is now on display in the hallway of our school! Thank you to everyone who came out to be a part of this project, and create alongside each other. We could not do what we do without our wonderful community!
