SUMMER CRAFTS FROM SEA TO SHORE

Explore the wide variety of nature inspired crafts from sea to shore! Design and sculpt clay sea creatures, paint and print with leaves and flowers, build nature sculpture and more. We’ll get outside to draw inspiration from what’s growing on the GAC campus and in your own backyard. Fee payable with tuition $10.

MAGICAL CREATURES
Open to ages 5-7

Children will explore a variety of art materials to create their own magical creatures. Make strange underwater animals and fish, flying mythical beasts and cute forest animals. Some projects will include soft sculptures, printmaking and paper mache. Fee payable with tuition $10.

DRAWING & PAINTING THE EARTH, SKY & OCEAN
Open to ages 8-12

Instructor: Alice Chittenden
In this class students will use a variety of materials (watercolor paints, oil pastels and markers) in an exploration of our earth. We will create drawings and painting using techniques specific to the various materials. Students may use teacher suggestions as a starting point or pursue their own ideas. There will be at least one three-dimensional projects. The instructor will have numerous books on hand to spark your imagination. Our project for the last day will be a surprise!

Join in the colorful fun during this weekend workshop as we learn how to use summer botanicals to create art. Using printmaking, natural dyeing, painting and collage techniques, we will explore ways to integrate pressed flowers and leaves onto a variety of surfaces, including recycled jars, fabric and papers.
