Greenstage Storytelling Performance TONIGHT! Thursday Sept 26 at 7 pm
Storytellers Denise Page and Jennifer Munro will perform at GAC tomorrow at 7 p.m. as part of the GreenStage@GAC series of events that bring together the performing and visual arts. Admission will be by $10 donation.
Under the name Black & Silver Productions, Denise and Jen received a 2022 GreenStage Artists’ Award; they curated and presented a collection of five women’s stories at the 2023 GreenStage festival last September. At this event, they’ll be telling their own stories, playing off works in the Guilford Art League’s annual exhibition.

Wendy and Betsy are the artists behind Investment Design jewelry. They were also the original owners, along with Jennifer Cowie, of MiX Design Store, a beloved Guilford retail establishment and a shopping destination for contemporary accessories and home goods, which was most recently owned by Maggie Moffett. Wendy and Betsy recently donated a collection of their jewelry to benefit GAC, and this event celebrates their artistry and generosity.
The event is free and the community is invited to attend. Mixtinis will be served! Jewelry sale continues through Oct 5.

“The Quilters” Screening at Madison Cinemas, Tuesday, October 22, 6:00pm
New event just added!
Guilford Art Center is hosting a screening of Jen McShane’s new documentary “The Quilters” + Q &A with the filmmaker at Madison Cinemas on Tuesday evening, October 22.
There will be a 6 pm screening; tickets will include a drink and popcorn, plus the chance to be one of the first people to see this fascinating documentary. Jen will conduct a Q&A after the screening.
Tickets to go on sale next week; proceeds to benefit Guilford Art Center.

IRIS Paper Folding Workshop

Iris paper folding is a paper craft technique that involves folding strips of colored paper to form a design. Create beautiful designs on square greeting cards using different templates and patterned papers. All supplies provided. Fee payable with tuition $15. Tuition $50; GAC members $45
Forging Your Own Hammer Workshop
Saturday – Sunday, Sept 28-29, 10am-4pm
Instructor: Aidan Garrity
Students will forge their own hammers and make and mount handles. Engage in hands-on learning, mastering the fundamental techniques of heating, shaping and tempering metal to bring each design to life. Fee payable with tuition $50. Tuition $300; GAC members $270
