Students will learn several ring forming techniques using fine silver metal clay. Use of
slip syringe will be discussed, and students will learn how to flush-set synthetic stones for
firing in metal clay. The making of cold-molds will be demonstrated and students will use
them in ring making. This is a workshop for students with some experience working with
metal clay. Students should be able to complete at least 2 rings. Materials fee* of approx
$130.00 includes sufficient metal clay, supplies and significant handouts to complete
class projects, and is payable to the instructor at class. Prerequisite at least one
other metal clay class or workshop. Basic metal clay tools, including portable worksurface, are required and will not be provided. A small tool kit may be rented in
class for $3.00. Upon sign up, students must give their ring size or a ring size they
wish to work with.
