Students will learn the guidelines for creating a successfully executed human and pet
portrait. The curriculum will cover human portrait proportions, measurements, and
shading, as well as creating natural looking hair using a variety of pencils and shading
techniques. You will also learn the tricks of how to draw a pet portrait, including how to
render the expression in the eyes and the softness of the fur or feathers. Instructor will
provide photos and handouts. Student provided photos need instructor approval.
Beginners and intermediates welcome. Open to teens and adults. Demonstrations, one-on-one attention and class critiques. A materials list will be provided prior to class.
